Transfer has the enormous advantage of requiring little material: a laser printer, metal oxides, gum Arabic and linseed oil.
Of course, you need very good quality illustrations. All the ones I use are originals: drawings or photos worked.
Here are the steps :
Print an image with a laser printer
Dip the image in a gum Arabic solution. Gum Arabic will protect everything that is white
Ink the paper with a solution of linseed oil and metal oxides. Only the black parts will be inked.
Rinse thoroughly to remove excess oxides
Apply the image on the cay leather stage and rub.
