Learning 12 basic shapes. Starting weight: 500 g or 1kg for advanced. Finishing (turning) and decoration on the last day with slip. Possibility of learning beaks, lids and handles for the more advanced. I adapt to all levels!

Making your own glaze : July 14 to July 16, 2023
Ce stage d’émail niveau 2 (niveau 1 est le stage en we a pour but de familiariser les stagiaires avec les matières premières et d’acquérir une autonomie. Il s’adresse plutôt à des personnes ayant un four ou désirant en acquérir un et qui ont déjà une approche de la céramique. L’approche est personnalisée.

Day 1
Morning: learning molecular calculus (converting a recipe into raw materials). Studying Montmolin diagrammes using Uzan calculation and Matthes book. Learning how to correct recipe with silica and kaolin around the fusion triangle.
Afternoon : Study the diagram, molecular calculation, place the triangle, choose the points. Weighing and adding different oxides in a point. Firing.
Day 2 :
Morning : study a second diagram, molecular calculation, place the triangle, choose the points.Weighing and adding different oxides in a point. Application on shards.
Afternoon : application of the glaze on a small piece with a ladle, quenched and pistol. How to apply thick or thin depending on the glaze. Firing
Day 3 :
Morning : analysis of the firing, use of a spreadsheet to simplify the procedure, see together your future research.
